Lee (2002) described that political risk also has a macro element since the firm’s relationship with the host government and differences in cultural values or social systems generates necessary impacts on the success of the firm. However political risk is associated often with micro assumptions such as essential government interference with the operations of subsidiary, particular regulatory constraints or particular trade prohibitions. In China an American Company faces a macro political risk due to unpredictable policies of government as well as micro risks associated with inability of China to enforce intellectual property rights.
