The security of water is regarded as one of the major problem observed across the entire globe by the environmentalists specifically within Australian continent because of driest continents. The water security can be defined in many manners but importance for the security of water is one of the significant agreements for a longer frame of time. The sustainable usage for different water systems and prevention for hazards associated with the water which includes water borne diseases, floods or droughts all are come under the definition of the water security (Malard et al 2017, pp.410-420). The security of water has been emphasised by examining two important factors that are quality and quantity. It ensures that the water’s quantity needs to be met on the constant basis as per the wants or demands of the human beings without causing any harm to the environment.
The other significant factor which comes under the water security is called as the quality factor. The protection of water against all the contaminants of water and enable to provide supply ofdrinking water in the most reliable manner comes under the quality factor for the security of water. It has been observed that nature has played very significant role in altering the security of water in many ways for so many times but the interventions made by the human beings have done more destruction or harm than good towards the water cycle which has seriously cause more security issues for the water (Kotir et al 2017, pp.106-118). The various consequences have been observed due to water security which includes serious floods, longer drought conditions, reduced productivity within the agriculture sector, water borne diseases and many more. To survive in the present conditions is the major challenge for most of the human beings. Therefore, it has become the necessity to analyse causes and required pathways in order to reinforce or trigger decline for the water security.
