Emile Durkheim was concerned about the relationship between the maintenance of the integrity and coherence in modernity. The modernization in the society was causing a decline in the traditional and religious values. Emile Durkheim established the first European Department of Sociology. Emile Durkheim’s one of the most important contribution in the field of sociology was “The Division of Labor” in the year 1893. In 1895, Emile Durkheim published “Rules of the Sociological Methods”. In 1896, Emile Durkheim published a journal “L’Annee Sociologique” and in the subsequent year Emile Durkheim published “Suicide” which is considered to be the pioneer of modern social research. In “Suicide” he studied the suicide rates of Protestant and Catholic groups. I t also distinguished social science from psychology and political philosophy. Emile Durkheim’s religious views could be examined by his work “The Elementary Forms of Religious Life” in the year 1912. In 1890s Emile Durkheim made great contributions in the field of Sociology. Emile Durkheim had a vision to make sociology a new academic discipline. He also was concerned about the fact that the scientific knowledge could be implemented or not. Durkheim wanted to overcome the ideational conflicts between monarchists and anti monarchists, Catholics and Protestants, traditionalists and liberalists. Human Relations School refers to the researchers of organizational development who have carefully monitored and studied the behavior of people in various groups, specifically workgroups. (Alexander Jeffrey, 1982) Emile Durkheim has been instrumental in the human relations of school of thought. The human relations school of thought focuses on the imbalances between social needs of an individual and a work group which is working under complex operations on a large scale. Emile Durkheim has focused on the state of “pathological” industry resulted from a division of labor that is responsible for “Anomie”. Emile Durkheim proposed the solution of the problem of division of labor which was to introduce a culture which promotes a sense of belonging, a sense of moral order and social collectivity shared by labors and management.
