Conceptual Background: One of the biggest problems that a person faces on the job is time management and, in the events that he fails to do so properly, the resulting stress induced by not been able to meet deadlines. Ofcourse, some manage time better than the others, which may result in some people failing to meet deadlines miserably while others meet the same deadlines with ease. This may create an inferiority complex in the mind of the person who isn’t able to manage his/her time properly. It is true that stress can sometimes be a positive reinforcement and create better performance results, but in most cases, stress induces negative effects on the person and leads him/her to dissatisfaction with the job, problems in personal life, sleeplessness, absenteeism and finally distress.
On my job, I had to face an extremely demanding boss, long working hours and, sometimes, vagueness in my job responsibilities as I was expected to do work that wasn’t related to my job. As it was my first job and I didn’t have the experience to deal with such erratic and unjust behavior from a boss, I was very stressed out on the job. The stress in this case induced negative effects on my personality and health as I developed high-blood pressure, anxiety and also felt some sort of withdrawal from my social groups.
PSAT’s: My PSAT’s were effected extremely on the job in the following way:
Performance: My performance went from good to bad and then to worse as I hadn’t expected such reaction from my boss. Feeling a lack of appreciation, my work started to get more and more irregular and incomplete.
