The Human Resource Management department of an organization has a very important task at hand, which is to handle, maintain and excel the most valuable asset of any organization, i.e. the skilled employees. The Human Resource department is not only entitled to recruit new talent for the company but also to look after the overall productivity of the employee so that the equilibrium between the mutual benefit of the employer and the employee is maintained.
Some experienced professionals rightly state that the success or failure of an organization is directly related to the employee relations pertaining in the organization. A human resource professional plays a vital role in bringing together the employee force of an organization and binding them together. It is among the key roles of a human resource management member to engage the employees in something productive (Becker & Gerhart, 1996), not only for the organization but also for the individual himself. Right from the first day of the employee, let it be the formal introduction to the team or the creating of a healthy environment in a team, all are the tasks of human resource department.
However there have always been many problems in managing the overall task as it includes both psychological and managerial skills in imparting the duties. As well, the definition of job satisfaction is different for almost every person working under the same roof. Hence finding a suitable talent for the organization as well as maintaining the cost effectiveness and providing a healthy and competitive working environment for the employees, all fall under the responsibilities of the Human Resource personnel.
