European art in pre-historian time was mainly cave and rock painting. Asian arts are mainly influenced with Buddhist art, Chinese art, eastern art, Indian art, Iranian art, Islamic art, Jewish art and Japanese art. Europe art is more homogenous compared to Asia. So we can describe it as one European art. Europe has also seen many famous artists who have contributed a lot in this field. In Asia there have been many famous artists like Wang Qiongsong, Song Dong, Jun Yang, Yang Fudong, MF Hussain, who is widely regarded as Picasso of India. In Europe Realism grew as a major artistic movement. They have used light effects in their paintings. Light in a sense as it is seen by human eye. This is called Impressionism. Edgar Degas, EdouardManet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir were all Impressionists. And then there are Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Georges Seurat are the best known Post-Impressionists. If we talk about modern art, it includes art between 1860s to the 1970s. These are mainly impacted by philosophy. They described all philosophical aspects of prevailing scenarios. Modern art term is used as it deviates from prevailing current trend. It experiments a different thing and establishes a new tradition. It injects fresh ideas in art, more narrative and toward abstraction. Modern sculpture and architecture are influenced by 19th century. People who promote idealism are against idealism of the traditional academic art. It is also a fact that functioning of art is dependent on art institutions like private galleries, Non-profit spaces, art schools and publishers, curators, collectors and philanthropists.
