However social networking is not all good, there are indeed risks and drawbacks associated with social networking. It has associated risks especially for young kids who can differentiate between good and bad. Social networking websites have unlimited amount of information however it is difficult to know if the information is authentic or not. On Weibo in China, not every profile is real and genuine; people do create other’s profile. People do like pages of brands that do not exist in real. People are trapped in frauds and some people do that take unnecessary advantage of others. Kids also get access to information that they should not. There is no proper censorship of material on social networking websites. People can post and update what they wish to. (Weir, 2006) These websites lack the checkpoints. It is important for people to know the difference between real and fraud. It is also important for parents to educate their children about the various pros and cons of social networking. Social networking is a package that offers various advantages however it has its negative implications also. It is a phenomenon that has taken the world of Internet by storm. Almost any web surfer in China has an account on Weibo or other social networking website. In China, Weibo, Facebook and other social networking websites have changes the way internet is used. Previously people used to surf Internet for knowledge and fun purpose. Now a day’s people make account on social networking websites and then they have access to unlimited information. (Fong, 2011) It can be said that the first reason of joining any social networking website is that it helps in establishing connection with different people. People use Weibo and other social networking websites to stay in touch with their friends and relatives. Duplicity is one issue with which people are concern over social networking websites. There are cases when people duplicate the profiles of other people and then they contact the general public in name of that person. Social networking in China is well regulated as compared to other countries. Chinese government is strict in this regard and they have proper control over most of social networking websites. Weibo is one of the most famous social networking website in China. Most of the Chinese people who use Internet have an account on Weibo. Weibo is not too old as a company still it has managed a great deal and has a large number of people who have joined Weibo. (Zhang, 1999)
