Zara adopted a model where they use little resources to prevent waste. Nevertheless, this model continues to be dependent on the shorter obsolescence time period. H & M on the other hand adopts a circular economy model that is more fostered towards ethical consumption. There are still barriers to the ethical consumption model. These barriers were explained in detail in this analysis. Efforts to overcome the barrier were also explained in this research. The important factors that were discussed are explained in the following. An ideological change that fosters a balance between consumerism and ethical consumption needs to be adhered by the companies.
The companies need to follow and develop newer recyclable fabric for the increased use of products. This can address the balance among the consumption, economy and environment. The concept of ethics and ethical consumption needs to be understood in the society. There is a need for newer innovative models. This research has focused on some of the methods that are taken by the people to address the issues that existing in the society. However, there is a need for more discussion and analysis that needs to be done in order to create better ethical consumption models in the fashion industry.
To conclude, there is a need to strike a balance among the need of the people, requirement of the market dynamics and ethical consumption. This balance can be achieved by innovative means and measures. For this research, secondary data has been used. All other relevant ethical considerations were also checked in this reseach.
