Globalization is considered to be the concept of 21st century and no country is expected to survive without the adoption of this policy. It is important to have some context of speculation policy but before that it is must to know what the concept depicts. The seclusion policy refers to a policy and a typical local protectionism that closes the country to international intercourse has no relationship with the outside world. It has a close confinement for the communication of foreign economy, culture, science and so on.
This paper mainly talks about the economical and political influence of seclusion policy in ancient China. In Qing Dynasty, the government carried out the seclusion policy that in turn produced feudal economy. Of course, because of the policy, China cannot bring in the advanced culture and scientific technology in the world and it impedes the development of Chinese economy and seafaring. The policy is carried out for a long time and gradually results in the country’s blocking. Therefore, the development of Chinese society is standstill for a long time. Under the circumstance of western capitalism’s booming, China drops behind the world.
With the development of technology and science, globalization becomes an inexorable trend all over the world. It has brought plenty of advantages for many countries. Kevin argued that the concept of globalization was a rare event in 19th century until the price of transportation gets in reach to such an extent that exports across the globe got started (O’Rourke, 2000). For example, it improves their economies, politics and cultures. Although there are also some disadvantages, people still can take measures to deal with the difficulties. Therefore, people need to face on it bravely and rise to the occasion caused by globalization.
Seclusion policy has never been successful even in the absence of globalization though the concept is simply impossible to follow in light of 21st century. The root of the poor situation in Qing Dynasty in China was the seclusion policy. The government closed the country to international intercourse and refused to make progress, which severely hinders their connection with the world.
