Apart from the above, several issues regarding the management of the alternative technology sourcing make its use difficult. For instance, poor management within the data center may impact the performance of the alternative souring. Often, its poor performance may be due to factors outside the department, thus beyond their control (Plummer, 2008). Such issues effect its management and performance to a great extent and further reduce its reliability, causing users to not consider it as an effective means of handling data.
Although, alternative sourcing holds a significant place in future IT organizations, its current usage depends on what type of strategies are adopted by organizations and their outlook of it (Plummer, 2008). Currently, IT organizations are experiencing transitional uncertainties, further affecting their outlook of alternative sourcing. It is necessary to understand that the alternative technology sourcing programs chosen by an organization directly affect their accounting information system; making it extremely important for IT organizations to reconsider their use of alternative sourcing. This conservatism shown towards alternative sourcing is understandable, but it jeopardizes complacency.
Organizations should now be taking up preparatory actions for the future since it is expected to include greater use of alternative sourcing. They must begin preparation by guiding and influencing individuals of the institution and the decision making processes within the institution.
