Games of Throne is a program which gives information about the kind of politics that is played amongst the high societies and to what an extent the people can go to achieve their personal goals. Viewers get influenced by it and thus relate it with their real life. They then compare how the current ruling party uses its public to achieve their personal needs. People become aware about the kind of society they are living in. Television is therefore said to be a source which controls the minds of the people and which alters their decision making process. It guides them and tells them as to which cleaning product should they buy or as to for which party should they vote. People become so dependent on what is broadcasted on the television that they lose their own thought process.
Effects as a Problem
Recently the country has even made strict rules and processes in order to have a control on various programs and short films which are broadcasted online and also on the television (NTVS, 1997). Various Programs and films which do not have licenses are not permitted by the Chinese government to be shown online. Such programs are even fined and a penalty is put on them if they do not fulfil all the guidelines. Watching television consumes the precious time that can be rather spent by people on other fruitful activities namely exercise or reading or going out with their loved ones. These days many researchers are being conducted more and more studies on the harmful health effects of watching television. If we talk of China as a country, it uses a state control of the media that is being broadcasted on television and online. Chinese government has been specifically concerned about controlling the kind of content that is programmed on the television and online. The government makes sure that no kind of such programs are broadcasted on the television which makes it look like a ‘vulgar TV’ or which broadcasts a lot of violence.
