FDI in China
China is the biggest economic story in the world which is the most known topic in people’s mind. The economy of China is a crisis coming and the booming economy of China will never transcend United States. Several people claim that the 21st century will be the century of China although it is too early to make such claims of grandiose. But since the reform and opening up initiated in 1978 the average annual gross domestic product growth over the period is around 9.4%. Their growth is a big tern phenomenon not just a present one but since 980 there have been only 3 years when the growth was less than 7.1 percent. For a considerably long period of time to come China will be a developing country. China’s foreign trade has been risen in the last quarter century from United States $20.6 billion in 1978 to United States $ 1.4 trillion in 2005. China has 8 ports managing 100 meter tonnes or more a year, half of the globe’s total. In global terms the China and United States together account for half of the growth with much of that trade being with each other (Ianchovichina and Martin, 2001). In June 2005 China exported and manufactured high technology and more high quality products, home developed products and high value added products.
