I am applying for my graduate study in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences of the Columbia University. I am a traditional Chinese young man coming from a happy family background that has cherished my study ambitions and my plans for the future. I am ambitious and energetic. I play the saxophone and also exercise regularly as both help me calm my mind for my academic exercises. I completed my elementary school, middle school and high school education in China. Data information, analysis and its use in everyday household finances and budgeting has held a special interest for me since when I was young. This motivated me to attend the China Agricultural University for my undergraduate degree in Economics. This gave me knowledge of both economics and ways to model data. My Grade point average in my degree is 3.60. My academic study experience at the University also encompasses time spent in Student Union programs, part time cultural activities and more. As a student Union worker I was involved in collecting sponsorships to support student programs. I was also involved in the budgeting for the same. I was merited with collecting the highest contribution during my enrolment in the Union. This experience taught me much in terms of actual knowledge with finances and also improved my communication skills.
