There were some of the architects who had been contributed to the growth of the western influence in the metaboist movement. One of these was Fumihiko Maki who was working on the process of the Japanese translation of the communities and was making the design of a spiritual building. He tried to develop some of the new ideas of the city planning which had been based on the Japanese idea related to the layering or cocooning of the inner space. He also did the used the open spaces which had been based on the Buddhist spatial ideas and western influences. It had been stated by Australian architect Robin Boyd that the modern style which had been developed by the Japanese architect had actually been a compromise between east and the west. Bognar referred that some of the four main movements related to the structuralism, contextualism, symbolism and metabolism. All these movements had been influenced from the western architecture.
Metabolists stated that this kind of architecture had been based on the interchangeability and replacement ability. According to the author John Morris Dixon, it had been claimed that metabolism was the very first contribution of the Japanese architect to the modern movement.
In the year 1960, Metabolism called for the dynamic architecture against the status modernism of the West. With respect to the manifesto Metabolism led to the development of the static western modernism. The Japanese and the Western dichotomy played one of the most important rules in the architectural proposal which were related to the Metabolists. This also stated that the metabolists did the avocation of the mega structures whose parts could actually be exchanged or renewed without destroying the entire structure. Because of the influence of the metabolism, there was an exchange and renewal of the whole structure. This led to the formation of the high-tech city which worked with respect to the model related to the biological urbanism and it can also be maintained ‘alive’ with respect to the constant renewable.
