Describe what you learned
As a campus ambassador of the career counseling and training organization, I learnt a lot of which either I might not be possible to learn in other activities. By staying at the university and doing activities I also got the time to study further. The main activities or responsibilities that was involve as becoming a campus ambassador were to presenting the organization among the students, delivering the career related information to the students, connect to the students with the organization, conducting the career related workshops in the university and give the access to the students to discuss with the career experts of the organization.
For conducting the workshops and convincing the university administrator for that was very difficult but because of having the leadership skills and telling the positive effect to the administrator, I did at last. Also the patience was necessary to reveal the information among to all students in the university. The other skill that I used for improving the presentation and seminars was to co-ordinate to the people and answering to the questions about the careers. For answering the queries I had to study a lot about the organization and the career options available for the students. Also the time management was very difficult because at one time I have to manage the different things at each low level to the higher level. This work was really good for me and I learnt a lot too about how to organize the events, how to conduct workshops, how prepare the good business presentation, how to represent myself among the other people; what is career counseling all about, and about the leadership skills as well.
The leadership skill of mine was very helpful in doing all the activities and thus improved the effectiveness of the real work situation. Leading to the students and conversation to the organizing committee and dealing with the university administration was very challenging because I was doing it first time as a campus ambassador but the previous work for a venture as a leading team helped me a lot in dealing the activities. As a campus ambassador this was a good experience in learning, the corporate skills, leadership skills and managing skills. I also came to know that there are many career options available for the students in different countries during their study or after the study as practical internship, work placement etc.
