JM has applied CAD/CAM process in its functioning. This is a process that uses computers to improve the manufacturing, development and product design. These can be made faster, more accurately at a reasonable price, with the appropriate application of information technology. Computer Aided Design systems (CAD, which stands for Computer Aided Design) can be used to generate models with many, if not all, of the characteristics of a particular product. In spite of implementing CAD/CAM, the overheads costs of JM have increased due to the employment of support staffs. The automated processes are not as effective as they should be. The features of each component, are stored as two-and three-dimensional drawings (Sarasota, 1993). Once these had been introduced and stored in the computer system, the designer manipulated or modified the design ideas more easily to advance product development of JM. CAD system allows JM to simulate the performance of a product (Lambert, Cooper and Pagh, 1998). They can check whether a proposed product will work as planned, if a bridge will be capable of withstanding the loads safely predicted and even if a clothing will be safe in a new package design. However, as per the production director of JM, investments have been made in inspection, purchasing and supply, delivery inspection and stores, materials handling, quality control, safety inspection and environmental control.
