Eugene Delacroix was a renowned painter who had interpreted romance in France than any other artist during his life span from 1798- 1863. He underwent a training at neoclassical painter Guerin from there he came in contact with Gericault which led to “The Raft of the Medusa”. Delacroix was very influenced by the paintings of Michelangelo and Rubens and this was the reason he developed his own paintings in two directions of expressive color with side formal and poetic side with exotic subjects. Delacroix participated with his painting “The Barque of Dante” for the first time at the Salon d’Automne in 1822 that portrayed direct connection with literary romanticism. Delacroix’s second painting,” The Massacre at Chios” presented the situation of the war of liberation of the Greeks by the Trucks (Green, 1996). This painting showed the harsh reality and also the unique power of expression of Delacroix of standing as a committed artist who stands for the problems of that time. Another painting named as “Liberty Leading the People” in 1830 presented Delacroix’s this commitment in the best way. He focused on the then arising the demand of a new social and political importance.

Each painting of Delacroix emphasized on realism up to such an extent that each contributed to provide the meaning of the tale to be told and even increases the strength of communication or the message the artist wants to convey. In the paintings of Delacroix there was not even a single or a tiny spot of color that did not had a purpose. This can be well proved with the fact that if any sort of irrelevant detail is depicted on the frame it for sure catches the attention of the spectators and makes it difficult for them to analyze the importance of that part. All the master pieces of paintings are realistic as everything that is present in the painting has its meaning with a definite role.
